Blackjack Rules

The main goal of Blackjack is to attain cards to the amount of 21 by summing up the value of the cards without going over 21. In Blackjack, the cards (J, Q, K) have the same value of a 10 card; cards from 2 to 9 have the same value as the numeral they represent. An Ace can count as either 1 or 11.

If you’re hit with an ace and a card with the value of 10 in your first 2 cards, you will hit blackjack and win your bet times 1.5 (if you bet 10, you will get 25). If the total value of your cards are closer to 21 than the croupier’s cards, you win the bet (if your bet was 10, you will get 20). If the total value of your cards is more than 21, you border the “edge” and lose your bet automatically. If either you or the croupier has the same value of your cards (17 to 21) neither of you will win and the bet becomes a tie.

Blackjack wins to the sum of 21.

  • After each round, all the dealt cards return to the deck which is shuffled again.
  • The player cannot split a hand that is split already.
  • The player can double after the split.
  • The croupier will get additional cards when the total value of his or her cards is 16 or less and will stand when the total of cards is 17 or more (including soft 17).
  • The croupier won’t ask for more cards when the player goes “over”.
  • The splitting, doubling, and betting safe options will be discounted from his or her balance.

If your first 2 cards have the same value, you can split it in 2 separate hands, placing a second bet the same as the original. You can request additional cards should you decide to split. If 2 aces are split, you will only get one extra card for each ace. If you get an ace and a card with the value of 10 in a split hand it’s considered 21 and not Blackjack.

You can only double the bet when the 2 first cards are dealt, if you think the third card will let you win over the dealer’s hand, you can double your bet, only one card will be dealt and you won’t get an additional card. The amount of the bet becomes the double of the original.

If the croupier shows an ace in his initial hand, he will offer the opportunity to ensure your bet against his who may get a blackjack. If you accept insurance, an equal amount as the half of your original bet will be place aside on the table. If the croupier does have blackjack he will be paid odds 2 to 1 over your insurance. This way you won’t lose your original bet. If the croupier does not have blackjack, you will lose the amount of the insurance.
